JOSH "SALTY" MATTHEWS
Born in the rugged mountain country of Colorado, Josh Matthews discovered his love for fly fishing at an early age under the patient guidance of his grandfather. When his family moved to Arizona’s Verde Valley at the age of six, that passion only deepened. What began as childhood curiosity soon evolved into a lifelong calling.

After more than a decade running Salty Fresh Flies L.L.C. and High-N-Dry On The Fly Outfitters L.L.C., Josh—known affectionately in the fly fishing world as “Salty”—teamed up with his childhood friend Caleb Labarda join forces under AZ Legend Adventures. Together, they’ve created one of Arizona’s most respected fishing and kayaking operations, renowned for immersive, one-of-a-kind experiences across the state’s diverse waters.
